Discover the Costa Dorada
The Costa Daurada (the ‘Golden Coast’) has lots to offer its visitors. Beautiful beaches, the Ebro Delta and cultural hotspots like the Roman city of Tarragona (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
A few minutes’ inlands you will find yourself high up in the mountains, with its monasteries and beautiful little ‘pueblos’ where time has stood still.
Most of Costa Daurada’s beaches have a so-called ‘blue flag’ which shows the perfect quality of the seawater.
In the area you will notice lots of culture and traditions, from the Castells (human towers built traditionally in festivals at many locations within the region of Catalonia) the Sardanas (a type of circle dance typical of Catalonia), Correfocs (literally ‘fire-runs’ where people dressed as devils run around the streets lighting fireworks) and the festivals of Cabezudos & Gigantes (with its giant figures made out of papier maché).
